Cave Creek

The town of Cave Creek extends west from 16th street to 80th street, and from Spur Cross south to Jomax Road, and is just northwest of the town of Carefree.  Cave Creek has retained a western feel thanks to its many horse properties and its rural feel.   While there are custom home options throughout Cave Creek, this town also has over 100 different subdivisions, featuring a wide variety of home options.

For example, the Tatum Ranch subdivision is one of the most popular options in Cave Creek.  This upscale master-planned neighborhood features single-family homes ranging from 1,400 to approximately 4,300 square feet, all in a desert landscaped community with walking paths and parks.   North of Tatum Ranch is another popular subdivision, Dove Valley Ranch, with its 850 homes in a beautiful gated community.  Builders such as Maracay Homes, Shea Homes, and Homes by Towne offer a wide variety of floorplans and square footage in this desert oasis.

Those looking for lower-maintenance options such as condominiums are in luck.  Condos in Cave Creek can be found in subdivisions such as Rancho Madera, Terra Vista at Tatum Ranch, Rancho Villas, and the Village at Surrey Hills, among others.

The three golf courses in Cave Creek are the Rancho Manana Golf Course, Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club and the Tatum Ranch Golf Club.   Fitness enthusiasts will enjoy horseback riding in Spur Cross, as well as hiking in Cave Creek Regional Park and Spur Cross Ranch.

Cave Creek has several popular community parks, including Desert Willow Park, John Teets Park and Rancho Paloma Park, and Dynamite Park, which feature amenities such as basketball courts, soccer fields, picnic ramadas and playgrounds.  Shopping and entertainment can be found in the Carefree Marketplace shopping center as well as in the western town of Cave Creek and Carefree.  Art galleries, boutiques and restaurants here are unique and independently owned, and retain a distinct western flavor.

The Arizona Department of Education has designated the Cave Creek Unified School District an “A” rated district.  Black Mountain Elementary School, Desert Sun Academy, Desert Willow Elementary School, Horseshoe Trails Elementary School, and Lone Mountain Elementary School all serve Cave Creek’s kindergarten through sixth grade students.  Seventh and eighth grade students attend Sonoran Trails Middle School, and Cactus Shadows High School serves grades nine through twelve in Cave Creek.
